Las estrellas que vemos son como nuestro sol, pero las vemos pequeñas por que están lejos.
Están muy MUY lejos. De hecho nuestro sol es una estrella bastante del montón. ¡Hay estrellas MUCHO más grandes!
Es difícil imaginar cómo de grandes son o cómo de lejos están las estrellas. Para hacerlo más fácil podemos usar esta calculadora.

El sol tiene 100 veces el diámetro de la tierra. Si el sol fuera una pelota de playa de 1m de diámetro, la tierra sería un garbanzo de 1 centímetro de diámetro a 100 metros de distancia de él.
Los tamaños sí son proporcionales, aunque las distancias, no.
Las estrellas están muy separadas entre si.
Si el sol tuviera un diámetro de 1mm, la estrella más cercana estaría a 29 kilómetros, más allá de Ontinyent. Y si fuera un garbanzo de 1cm de diámetro, la estrella más cercana estaría a casi 300km, en Madrid
